Fungus threatens tape collections ‘Contagious’

Video digitizing hardware producers are leaping for delight over news ye oldie VHS tapes are becoming unwatchable thanks to an eruption of mould.

According Telegraph statement this week, lots of folk, archive owners, museums, and collectors are keeping their old tapes in soggy conditions.

While the damp won’t harm record, it nonetheless supports the growth of toadstool which forms a white, powdering coating on the tape. The experts of video restoration claim once that happens, the fit tapes for the bin.
